Nice pair of genuine WWII US Army wool mittens, intended for being worn under the shell mittens. The index finger remains independent from the others in order to pull the weapon's trigger. Intended for mountain warfare, this type was widely used in the Ardennes, including by airborne units such as the 517th PIR, 82d Airborne Division as shown in some pictures.
