Great genuine WWII US Army regulation 'Ike Jacket' of the type introduced in April 1944.
The present uniform, which is in excellent overall condition, retains all original buttons and insignia: ETOUSA shoulder sleeve insignia, Technician 4th Grade rank stripes, ribbon bars (Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and American Campaign Medal), 'Ruptured Duck', Meritorious Service Unit Badge, and four Overseas Service Bars; label is dated June 22, 1944; size 38R.
Name Gerken, Peter J.H. and ASN 32511903 have been written inside.
A very nice OD garrison cap, in perfect condition, featuring the white and maroon piping of the Medical Department, comes along with this jacket; ASN 32511903 has been written on the sweatband.
Peter John Henry Gerken, Jr. was born on December 28, 1910 in Brooklyn, New York and joined the US Army on September 25, 1942. He deployed to England with Medical Department and met some Thelma Margaret Weckerly, whom he married on January 10, 1946. He passed away on February 6, 1995.
