

Rare genuine WWII US Army grouping, which belonged to some Major Harry P. Abbott, a Protestant chaplain, and includes the following items:
- Bronze Star, coming in its original case with ribbon and lapel badge; name H.P. Abbott has been engraved on the reverse of the medal;
- French Croix de guerre 1939-1940 with Vermeil Star, indicating some Army Corps citation;
- standard regulation Chritisian chaplain's stole (Scarf, Chaplains’, Christian Faith, Stock No. 62-S-250), to be worn when celebrating mass and administering the sacraments;
- 1st Armored Division shoulder sleeve insignia.
Great homogeneous set, in very good overall condition.
Harry Phineas Abbott was born on January 10, 1905 in Waynesville, Illinois. He went on to serve as a Chaplain with 13th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division and deployed to North Africa, where he tended to the wounded and buried the dead, prior to publishing his war memoirs in 1946: The Nazi "88" Made Believers. He passed away on October 2, 1995.
