Projector, Pyrotechnic, US Navy, 1943, Complete

Very nice and scarce genuine WWII US Mk 3 hand projector, delivered in its original package with six red flares.

Introduced for use by the US Navy in early 1943 to supplement the various Very flare guns, this hand projector was packaged in a sealed waterproof container along with six distress rockets and designed for being included in life rafts and other emergency equipment. This type was soon superseded by the Mk 4, almost identical apart from a few differences in the barrel and the safety mechanism.

The present package features the following markings: The Cuneo Press, Inc., Packaging Division - Pyrotechnic Projector and Six (6) Very's Cartridges - Contract No. N288s11320 - Date of Packing, June, 1943 - Distress Signal.

Complete, in its original sealed pack in mint, unopened condition.
