Bracelet, Chain, US Navy, BMC Peter Pilot, USS Drayton & USS Prince William, PTO
Nice genuine WWII silver alloy chain bracelet, hallmarked Sterling, which belonged to some Peter Pilot, service number 243-52-48, vaccinated against tetanus in May 1943, blood type A. Mention Remember has been engraved on the reverse.
Complete and in good overall condition. Clasp is in working order. Total length: 8.6in.
Peter Pilot (sometime written Pelot) was born on June 29, 1913 in Freeland, Pennsylvania to Hungarian parents and joined the US Navy on May 5, 1936. He went on to serve aboard the USS Drayton (DD-366 )-- a destroyer whose homeport was Pearl Harbor -- and joined up again on July 27, 1942, soon serving with the crew of the USS Prince William (CVE-31), an aircraft carrier which deployed to the Pacific. His name still appears on the ship's roll of honor as per December 1944. He was discharged as a Chief Boatswain's Mate, and passed away on August 1st, 1986.
