Nice genuine WWII US Navy Mk 2 Talker helmet, complete with leather chinstrap. Designed in 1942, this is a very large helmet to wear though it did serve its purpose very well. It was intended for accommodating headphones for radiomen or anyone using shipboard sound-powered phones. This type was manufactured by the McCord Radiator Company in Detroit, Michigan.
Paint and cork are rather well preserved. The correct russet leather chinstrap is also present with copper wire hooks to attach to the helmet.
Good overall condition.
