Nice genuine WWII US Navy blue wool jumper, retaining its original Aviation Metalsmith 1st Class rating/rank badge and two Service Stripes on the left sleeve.
Very good overall condition; name Shanahan has been stenciled in the collar and written on the tag.
Patrick Clifford Shanahan was born on August 23, 1923 in Niagara Falls, New York and joined the US Navy on November 20, 1942 (service number 608-88-23). He deployed to Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides on March 17, 1944 and went on to serve on the naval base through December. Discharged as an Aviation Metalsmith 1st Class, he passed away on October 30, 2006.
