Dealing with his own wartime experience, these memoirs are illustrated with numerous photographs and various documents.

Jesse Monroe Harrison was born on April 21, 1921 in Missouri and joined the US Army Air Corps on January 6, 1942 (ASN 17035089). He was awarded his pilot's wings on March 20, 1943 as a 2nd Lieutenant, was promoted to the rank of 1st Lieutenant in October of that year, and went on to serve with 77th Troop Carrier Squadron, 435th Troop Carrier Group, participating in all major campaigns, including Operations Neptune and Market Garden. Wounded in action, and a recipient of the Ditsinguished Flying Medal, he passed away on April 21, 2015.
