Nice genuine WWII USAAF Type E-1 Bombardier's Case, intended for carrying the bombardier's equipment aboard the aircraft -- charts, maps, aerial photographs, various tools and instruments...

All Conmar zippers are in working order, and so are the snap fasteners of the inner compartments.

Complete and in good overall condition; no accessories included.

Name J.R. Peters and officer's ASN O-733226 have been stenciled on the outer surface.

John Roberts Peters was born on Mach 25, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and joined the Air Corps on January 27, 1942 (ASN 13057286). He was awarded his bombardier-navigator's wings and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in January 1943, prior to deploying to Europe on July 31, 1944, where he went on to serve with 574th Bomb. Squadron, 391st Bomb. Group, 9th Air Force. On December 23 of that year, he was captured following the crash of his aircraft, B-26G Marauder 43-34309 coded 4L-C, which was shot down by German fighters. Liberated in June 1945 and discharged on December 23 as a 1st Lieutenant, he passed away on November 19, 1988.
