

Nice genuine WWII US M3 leather shoulder holster intended for the Colt M1911A1 Pistol, caliber .45.
Manufactured by Enger-Kress and dated 1944.
Introduced for USAAF pilots in 1942, this type was subsequently used in most branches of the military and became particularly popular among airborne troops and armored crews.
Complete and in quite good, used condition; the belt loop snap fastener and the Lift-the-Dot fastener of securing strap are both in working order.
Name Hugh W. Lindsay has been written on the front.
Pistol is not included.
The above-mentioned name could correspond to Hugh Wilson Lindsay, who was born on May 12, 1923 in Hardingville, New Jersey and joined the US Army Air Corps on July 31, 1942 (ASN 13098691). He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant upon receiving his pilot's wings in December 1943 and deployed from May 13, 1944 to April 24, 1945, prior to being discharged on June 16 of that year. He passed away on January 11, 1986.
