Beau couteau de combat Western Shark, d'origine Deuxième Guerre, marqué Western, Boulder, Colo., Pat. No. 1,967,479 sur le ricasso.

Lame type Bowie de 14,5 cm, poignée recouverte rondelles de cuir, pommeau en bakélite.

Modèle notamment observé sur les pilotes de l'aéronavale déployés dans le Pacifique.

Exemplaire en bon état général, livré dans son fourreau en cuir fauve d'origine, au dos duquel a été gravée l'inscription suivante : 10th C.B. Frank B. Gebhardt.

Frank Benjamin Gebhardt est né le 19 février 1905 à Fort Wayne (Indiana) et rejoint l'US Navy le 21 avril 1942 (matricule 622-75-87). Affecté au 10th Naval Construction Battalion le 3 juillet suivant, il figure toujours sur le Muster Roll de l'unité en septembre 1944. Les différentes composantes du bataillon seront déployées dans le Pacifique, notamment à Midway. Démobilisé le 3 octobre 1945 avec le grade d'Electrician's Mate 2nd Class, il est décédé le 1er août 1977.
