D-DAY minus - 17 September 1944

Le 16 août 1942, l' U.S. Army crée les premières Divisions aéroportées, la 101ème Airborne Division à Fort Bragg et la 82ème Airborne Division basée en Caroline du Nord, qui allaient redéfinir les stratégies de guerre de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il y a 70 ans, les responsables militaires n’étaient pas si sûrs que la 101ème, les "Screaming Eagles", nouerait avec le succès. Cependant, leurs opérations de combat occupèrent rapidement une place parmi les plus cruciales de l'Histoire des États-Unis – le Débarquement de Normandie et L’Opération Market-Garden, un pont trop loin. Le premier commandant de la 101ème Division aéroportée, le Major-Général William C. Lee, a déclaré que ses hommes n'avaient pas d'histoire, mais avaient un "Rendez-vous avec le Destin." Aujourd'hui, vous avez un rendez-vous avec l'Histoire. « Orange is the Color of the Day » qui retrace l'histoire en images de la 101ème Division aéroportée au cours de la libération de la Hollande est maintenant finalisé et en cours d'impression. Cet ouvrage de 560 pages contenant plus de 850 photos est en vente au prix de 79 euros.
